Wir führen dieses Projekt durch, um herauszufinden, ob Akupunktur, die durch eine chemotherapeutische Behandlung entstandenen Geschmacksstörungen lindern kann. Darüber hinaus interessiert uns der Einfluss der Akupunkturbehandlung auf weitere Aspekte wie Lebensqualität, das Stresserleben, die Erschöpfung (Fatigue), Übelkeit und Erbrechen, Gewichtsverlust, Mundtrockenheit und Gefühlsstörungen an Händen und Füssen (periphere Polyneuropathie).

What kind of patients with depression participate in studies with internet interventions (iCBT) compared to the ones participating in face to face interventions? Do baseline characteristics in studies with internet interventions differ from face to face baseline characteristics? Is there a possible bias concerning the generalizability of findings from each type of intervention compared to the general population with depression?

We aim to summarize the effectiveness of eHealth interventions (i.e. app interventions) on clinical outcomes in patients with chronic medical conditions. The population will consist of a variety of clinical conditions, which can be considered as chronic conditions. The outcomes of interest depend on the investigated condition (main symptom), but also general outcomes (i.e. quality of life, depression) will be analysed.

This review and meta-analysis examines if mindfulness or relaxation interventions which are delivered as mHealth or eHealth interventions are effective. We investigate a variety of medical conditions but studies with healthy subjects will be excluded. The outcomes of interest are any health related outcomes for the specific patient population, distress and quality of life. Short term and long term effects will be determined. As comparator intervention waitlist, usual care or any active condition will be adequate but the analyses will be conducted separately.

Chronische Rückenschmerzen sind eine häufige Erkrankung und führen zu starken Einschränkungen in der Lebensqualität der Betroffenen. Neben pharmakologischen Interventionen haben sich auch komplementärmedizinische Behandlungsverfahren, wie zum Beispiel Akupunktur, als wirksam erwiesen. Beobachtungstudien bestätigen einen Zusammenhang zwischen hohen Erwartungen des Patienten vor einer Akupunktur und einem günstigen Behandlungsergebnis. Gleichzeitig liegen auch Studien vor, in denen Erwartungen vor der medizinischen Behandlung durch eine gezielte Kommunikation verbessert wurden und anschliessend ein günstigeres Behandlungsergebnis erreicht wurde. Allerdings liegen dazu noch wenige Studien vor. Deshalb möchte diese Studie untersuchen, ob Erwartungen zur Wirksamkeit der Akupunktur durch eine spezifische Kommunikation (Briefing) vor der Behandlung verändert werden kann und ob auch eine unterschiedliche Kommunikation über Nebenwirkungen das Auftreten von Nebenwirkungen verändert. Patientinnen und Patienten mit chronischen werden alle mit Akupunktur behandelt und erhalten vor der ersten Behandlung unterschiedliche Informationen (Briefing) zu Wirkungen und Nebenwirkungen. Ergebniskriterien sind Erwartungen vor der Behandlung, Schmerzen sowie die Nebenwirkungen während der Behandlung.

This study aims to summarize the empirical evidence based on randomized controlled clinical trials (RCTs) of the effects (potential benefits and harms) of acupuncture to prevent CINV in patients undergoing chemotherapy, with a specific focus on exploring sources of between-study-variation in treatment effects.

Die operative Entfernung von Weisheitszähnen ist ein schmerzhafter Eingriff. Während der Operation werden normalerweise Schmerzmittel eingesetzt. Allerdings, konnte auch für Hypnose ein schmerzlindernder Effekt und ein geringerer Verbrauch an Schmerzmitteln bei einem solchen Eingriffs gezeigt werden. Jedoch ist die Studienlage noch unzureichend, da die Qualität der bisherigen Studien eher gering war. Wir werden zu Beginn eine Reihe von Einflussfaktoren für die Wirksamkeit der Hypnose miterheben (z.B. Erwartungen von Patienten), um damit genauer abschätzen zu können, welche Patienten am meisten profitieren.

To develop a better understanding of the cerebral response to a complex somatosensory intervention with XNKQ acupuncture and to build a foundation for future studies with stroke patients our study aims to evaluate changes of brain activity and brain structure in healthy subjects after XNKQ acupuncture in comparison to three control interventions. We will use EEG, structural MRI, and resting-state functional connectivity MRI to assess neuronal responses in 28 healthy subjects to a) strong manual needle-stimulation of the acupuncture points DU26, PC6 and SP6 (XNKQ acupuncture), b) insertion of needles on the acupuncture points DU26, PC6 and SP6 without stimulation (control 1), c) strong manual needle stimulation of three non-acupuncture points (control 2), and d) insertion of needles on three non-acupuncture points without stimulation (control 3). With this, our study aims to create results which inform future studies in patients and might be helpful for the rehabilitation of deficits after stroke.
