Are you taking opioid painkillers due to chronic pain and would like to reduce them? Are you interested in a mind-body management intervention?
Aim of the study
We are investigating whether a mind-body management intervention can support the reduction of opioid painkillers. Openly administered placebos are also used in this context. We would also like to know whether this approach can reduce undesirable side effects. The findings of this scientific study are primarily used for basic research.
Who can take part?
We are looking for test subjects for a scientific study funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF): You are at least 18 years old, have been suffering from chronic, non-cancer-related pain for at least 6 months, have been taking opioid painkillers for more than 3 months and are motivated to reduce them.
Procedure
The study lasts a maximum of 9 weeks per participant. Several online surveys will be conducted as part of the study. Participation takes place entirely online or by telephone. However, if you are interested, it is possible to arrange two of the appointments as personal visits at Haldenbachstrasse 16 / 18 in Zurich.
Compensation
Total: CHF 100. Participants who also take part in a final interview will receive an additional CHF 15.
