Application of muscle progenitor cells in stem cell therapy

Muscle biopsy for optimization of muscle precursor cells for future treatment of muscle disease (human muscle biopsy / hmb).

Aim of the study

In a first step, the growth and multiplication of muscle cells has already been established in the laboratory. The aim of this study is to further optimize the muscle stem cells for future successful use in humans. Our long-term goal is to treat incontinent patients with defective bladder sphincters using the body's own muscle cells. The biopsy is taken during the planned surgical procedure and does not require the patient's presence. In addition to the tissue sample, 20 ml of blood is taken and checked for notifiable diseases (HIV, HEP B&C, syphilis)

Target group

Patients who have undergone abdominal surgery
