Support our innovation for the early detection of lung cancer

Published on November 12, 2024

Robot-assisted bronchoscopic navigation provides clarity about the diagnosis within a shorter period of time. This allows us to initiate the right treatment more quickly and avoid stressful follow-up examinations.

We offer an innovative, gentle diagnostic procedure for the diagnosis of small, suspected cancerous round lung lesions: robot-assisted bronchoscopy with integrated imaging. Using robots, we can quickly and precisely determine whether a specific case is a lung tumor and treat it quickly and targeted. This saves valuable time and reduces the burden of treatment.

As a university hospital, we strive to offer our patients the best possible medical care. The clear benefit that patients have from this new procedure is the reason why we are the first hospital in Europe to offer this new diagnostic procedure.

We cover the costs for this

Innovative procedures must first be incorporated into the current health insurance tariff system. This process can take several years. In order to be able to help our patients quickly and easily, we, the Clinic for Pneumology and the Clinic for Thoracic Surgery, are currently covering the additional costs for treatments with robotic bronchoscopy. In an accompanying study, we are collecting data and experiences on robot-assisted bronchoscopy.

Support us in this

Your donation will help us to cover the treatment costs for more patients and to purchase the device for good.
