Participation is now possibleResearch provides scientifically proven answers to medical questions and thus contributes step by step to improving medical care. One of the main goals of the University Hospital Zurich is to always be able to treat our patients according to the latest scientific standards. In order to meet this demand, it is essential to carry out clinical studies as well as research projects.
At the USZ, we conduct studies with healthy volunteers as well as with patients. Participation in clinical trials is always voluntary and will not affect how you are treated by us if you are a patient.
If you are interested in participating in a study, we will be happy to inform you about our ongoing studies at the hospital, their objectives, and the associated opportunities and risks. Detailed information on the individual studies can be found on the corresponding subpages (in German).
Every discovery, every drug and every treatment method has its origin in research. Research provides scientifically proven answers to medical questions and thus contributes step by step to improving medical care. One of the main goals of the University Hospital Zurich is to always be able to treat our patients according to the latest scientific standards. In order to meet this demand, it is essential to carry out clinical studies as well as research projects.
The focus is on developing new ways to detect, treat and prevent diseases. However, research by no means takes place only in laboratories, but also in research projects in everyday clinical practice itself.
Research is very diverse and is conducted in all specialties in the hospital. Thus, in addition to research on new drugs or medical devices, research is conducted primarily in the areas of treatment, care, physical therapy, data and specimens, and patient advocacy. Accordingly, you will find further information on the following pages: Research Simply Explained and on the possibility of participating as a member of a research team, also called Patient and Public Involvement.
