In order to provide you with independent and comprehensive information, the USZ develops its content with a team of communication experts, medical specialists and external authors.
Our editorial team is responsible for gripping stories, reports, interviews and news. It consists of experts with advanced degrees in communication, journalism and related fields of study.
Our medical editorial team is made up of medical specialists from the clinics of the USZ. They work closely with the editorial team by creating health information in their area of expertise and reviewing the content created by the editorial team.
The creation of medical content follows a defined process:
The content of our website is primarily aimed at patients and their relatives. That’s why we make our content as easy to understand as possible and avoid medical jargon. Exceptions to this are articles that are clearly aimed at a specialist audience, such as specialist articles from clinics.
Medical professionals check the health content for accuracy, topicality and relevance as well as for any sources used. Medical editors can consult with other experts at the USZ to ensure that statements are based on the best available evidence and expert consensus.
We can use artificial intelligence (AI) tools when developing and translating content, for example to write in simple and consistent language. AI tools are also used to optimize content for search applications and adapt it to the preferred terminology, editorial style and target reading levels. The USZ does not publish any content created by AI tools that has not gone through the standardized process.
We strive to always provide accurate and up-to-date content. As medicine is constantly evolving, our medical content is regularly reviewed and updated.
If you nevertheless find passages that you assume or know to be outdated or no longer correct, we will be happy to receive your comments via the online form.
