About the Department of Visceral and Transplant Surgery
The Department of Visceral and Transplant Surgery enjoys an excellent reputation worldwide in the various areas of its treatment specialties (abdominal surgery). This reputation is based on many years of clinical and scientific experience and a unique network that allows us to access the latest findings and state-of-the-art treatment options at any time.
As a university center, we offer our patients comprehensive and holistic care. Leading experts from a wide range of disciplines work closely together to respond to individual needs and define a customized treatment pathway for each patient. Our patients also have the unique opportunity to take part in clinical studies.
The “Swiss HPB and Transplantation Center Zurich” forms a structural and personnel unit with its own intermediate care unit (IMC) and is today one of the largest centers for the treatment of liver, pancreatic and biliary tract diseases in Europe and the largest liver transplant center in Switzerland.
The Department of Visceral and Transplant Surgery also plays an important role in the training of future doctors, in the further training of doctors in the field of surgery and the “Fellowship in HPB and Transplant Surgery” as well as in continuing education.
