Strabismus (squint) and amblyopia (visual impairment)
The treatment of visual impairment that persists despite spectacle correction is usually carried out with patches on the eye that is not squinting. The intensity and duration of the covering is adapted to the age of the child. Early detection increases the success of the treatment.
In the presence of a large squint angle that interferes with interaction with other people and / or loss of spatial vision, eye muscle surgery may be useful. These are procedures that are covered by compulsory health insurance.
