Sarcoma treatment

Sarcomas are the generic term for various malignant diseases of the bone and soft tissues such as muscle, fatty tissue, blood vessels and other tissues that make up our body but cannot be assigned to a specific organ.

This diversity requires a high degree of specialization in diagnosis, treatment and aftercare. In particular, this requires close cooperation between different specialist disciplines, which are generally only available in a large hospital or a university hospital. We work very closely with Balgrist University Hospital, are part of the Zurich Sarcoma Center and take part in the weekly interdisciplinary Sarcoma Board, in which the diagnosis and treatment of all patients with sarcomas is jointly determined. We offer special consultation hours for patients with sarcomas several times a week. As a university hospital, we are actively involved in research into new, promising tumor therapies and work at the cutting edge of science.

In addition to the treatment of our patients with cancer, relatives often ask about their risk of also developing cancer or about sensible preventive measures. Today, we have extensive knowledge that we can use to assess your individual risk.
