Treatment of joint prosthesis and bone infections

Orthopaedic infections such as joint prosthesis infections (PJI) or bone infections (osteomyelitis) are rare infections, but difficult to diagnose and treat.

Long-term antibiotic therapy

We treat patients with vascular prosthesis infections with long-term antibiotic therapy. The type of antibiotic therapy depends on the microbiological diagnosis. As a rule, patients receive six weeks of iv antibiotic therapy, followed by oral follow-up therapy. The duration of antibiotic therapy is determined using PET/CT.
