CO2 laser treatments

CO2 laser treatment of condylomas, precancerous lesions on the external genitalia, also vaginally depending on location and extent.

Procedure

Benign changes such as genital warts (condylomas) and precancerous lesions can be treated well using laser therapy, especially if they are not very extensive. The tissue can be heated millimeter by millimeter under colposcopic control. Genital warts are thus vaporized; in the case of precancerous lesions, the affected skin layers are destroyed accordingly. What remains is a non-bleeding, abrasion-like wound that heals after a few weeks. The treatment of genital warts usually leaves no scars. When treating precancerous lesions, the formation of whitish scars is to be expected, especially in the hairy area.

Ectopias can also be treated with the CO2 laser, among other things. Ectopia is a harmless protrusion of the mucous membrane from the cervical canal caused by the hormone oestrogen, which displaces the epithelium on the cervix. In addition to vaginal bleeding after sexual intercourse, increased discharge can also be a highly disturbing symptom of ectopia. You are welcome to come to a dysplasia consultation for advice and a check-up.
