Saiba Animal Health pioneers plant-based virus-like particle technology to develop innovative therapeutic vaccines for chronic diseases in companion animals, including the award-winning HypoCat vaccine for neutralizing cat allergens.

Saiba Animal Health AG (formerly known as HypoPet AG) is a UZH spin-out company founded by Professors Thomas M. Kündig and Gabriela Senti in 2013. We use an in-house developed plant-based virus-like particle platform technology to test and develop therapeutic vaccines for treating chronic disease in companion animals. The company’s lead project is the HypoCat vaccine for which it was awarded the 2014 prestigious Swiss Technology Award for its paradigm-shifting concept of neutralizing the major cat allergen Fel d 1 known to cause allergy and asthma in humans by simple vaccination of the cat with its HypoCat vaccine.
