Open temporomandibular joint surgery

Treatment through surgery

The temporomandibular joint can be visualized via an access in front of the ear, which lies in the natural skin folds. The joint disc can be refixed or removed, the jaw head reconstructed or even entire sections removed. If joint function cannot be restored in this way, a joint prosthesis can be used.
