High Density Lipoproteins
The employees of the Institute of Clinical Chemistry pursue their own projects on cardiovascular and metabolic diseases, which are generally financed by third-party funds, and support the research of other groups with laboratory medical analysis.
The projects of the translational research groups “Lipoproteins”, “Sphingolipids” and “Vascular Biology” aim to improve our understanding of cardiometabolic diseases, in particular atherosclerosis, diabetes and peripheral neuropathies, and thus to improve their diagnosis, treatment and prevention.
The Biomarkers research group looks for and validates new candidates for the diagnosis of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases.
The Institute of Clinical Chemistry is also the central laboratory for several national and international cohort studies. Finally, the IKC offers many researchers its broad spectrum of analytical tests and methods as well as its know-how as a service or cooperation (analytics for research projects).
