Treatment offered by the Department of Pulmonology at the USZ Airport

The Department of Pulmonology offers cadre consultations for general pulmonology at the USZ Airport site 3.5 days per week. Our Attending Physicians are available for you at the airport on Monday mornings, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. The entire spectrum of acute and chronic diseases of the lungs and respiratory tract are competently diagnosed and treated. Lung diseases caused by smoking(COPD, emphysema) and bronchial asthma are among the most common diseases.

Special Consultation for Post-COVID-19

We also offer our patients a special consultation for post-COVID-19 at the USZ Airport. Some affected individuals recover very slowly after COVID-19 infection and present persistent symptoms. Our goal is to examine these patients in the best possible way and to help them overcome the symptoms of the disease as quickly as possible. The consultation is not intended for patients with an acute infection. Affected individuals with an acute infection should contact their primary care physician or the emergency department.

Pulmonary function laboratory

We perform specialized tests in the pulmonary function laboratory. Thus, we evaluate breathing mechanics, gas exchange, and physical performance.

Our research focuses on the following areas

  • chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
  • sleep-related breathing disorders
  • pulmonary hypertension and lung transplantation
  • Breathing gas analysis
