The first step is a comprehensive assessment of the eating disorders and the associated mental and physical symptoms. After an individual assessment and consultation - depending on the severity of the illness and the individual situation - various forms of therapy are offered and applied.
People who suffer from eating problems typically want to solve them on their own and not seek help from others. However, it is difficult to break the vicious circle of eating disorders on your own. It can therefore be helpful to talk to specialists and people who are affected themselves and to seek support.
In our special consultation hour for eating disorders, clarifications, assessments and psychotherapies take place. We mainly treat patients who suffer from the following eating disorders:

Patients with eating disorders and weight loss are first clarified in order to enable a reliable, sometimes alternative diagnosis. Further treatment depends on the diagnosis made. Patients with eating disorders require multidisciplinary care from psychotherapists, nutritionists and internists for successful treatment.
The team of therapists works primarily according to behavioral and/or systemic approaches. This means that eating behavior and the feelings associated with it are analyzed in order to create the conditions for change, and family members are included in the therapy. Biographical connections with the eating problem can also be taken into account. Individual nutritional advice is often part of the treatment.
