The disease manifests itself in the insufficient production of individual or all blood cell components (anemia; low white blood cells – tendency to infection; low blood platelets – tendency to bleed). MDS is mainly a disease of the elderly and is generally underdiagnosed. As treatment options are also increasingly available for older patients, it is worth referring them to a specialized center if there is clinical suspicion. Our clinic has many years of experience in the diagnosis and treatment of MDS.
The focus of the Center for Haematological Neoplasia is on the treatment of patients with malignant diseases of the haematopoietic and lymphatic system.
