Different treatment areas of the vulva
The vulva refers to the external female sexual organs. This includes the vaginal vestibule, the clitoris, the mons veneris and the labia majora and labia minora. The most common complaints of the vulva include itching, burning, dryness and pain. In addition to skin diseases and sexually transmitted diseases, hypersensitivity reactions and pain reactions of muscles or nerves also occur.

Further treatments
Dermatological treatment
Moisture, heat, sweat, urine, menstrual blood, rubbing underwear or panty liners can create a special environmental milieu. Therefore, in most cases, therapy is aimed at creating optimal environmental and care conditions in the vulva area with the help of externally applied products or medication. If necessary, a small skin sample is taken and, in rare cases, skin lesions are removed; this is done on an outpatient basis whenever possible.
Treatment with physiotherapy
Physiotherapy focuses on the treatment of acute and chronic pain. The aim is to alleviate the symptoms or to learn methods for dealing with them better, e.g. with muscle training, relaxation exercises, body awareness and behavioral exercises, biofeedback, electrostimulation or trigger point treatment, among other treatments in the pelvic area.
Treatment in the pain outpatient clinic
Once the search for the pain has been carried out and the exact location of the pain is known, targeted therapy is started. For example, local pain-relieving ointments, medication, injections or transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation are used. Chronic pain can lead to sensitization of the affected nerves with the aim of interrupting this pain cycle.
Treatment with sexual medicine
Difficulties during sexual intercourse can have their origin in physical, sexually impairing diseases, but also psychological and interpersonal problems. Frequent complaints from patients are listlessness, pain, lack of orgasm, but also inexperience. This is about becoming clear about your own sexual ideas and achieving a fulfilling sex life step by step. We attach particular importance to taking the different cultures of patients into account when providing advice.
