About the Department of Nuclear Medicine

The Department of Nuclear Medicine at the University Hospital of Zurich is one of the leading nuclear medicine clinics in Europe and is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment. In nuclear medicine, we use radioactive substances (radiopharmaceuticals) to visualize various functions and dysfunctions in our body. Our clinic is a world leader in the development and continuous advancement of so-called hybrid imaging, which combines functional and molecular imaging with radiopharmaceuticals with anatomical imaging techniques such as computer tomography and magnetic resonance imaging. In addition to the diagnosis of clinical pictures, nuclear medicine also uses special radiopharmaceuticals for the treatment of various tumor diseases.
