CT makes it possible to visualize the affected vessels quickly (the scan itself only takes a few seconds) and in great detail. The diagnosis of these complex clinical pictures can be made reliably and correctly using CT and enables the correct therapeutic measures to be initiated. For the examination, contrast medium is injected into the body via a vein in the arm. Vascular CT not only plays a decisive role in emergency situations, but is also the examination method of choice for follow-up checks of conservatively treated vascular changes and aftercare examinations following surgical and interventional procedures such as stent insertion.
