Volunteer service
Over 250 volunteers help out at the University Hospital Zurich where they perform valuable work for the benefit of patients.
There are many exceptional situations in everyday hospital life – especially for affected patients and their relatives. Especially then it is important not only to see the medical aspect, but the person as a whole. Here, the volunteers at the USZ make an extremely important contribution.
Do you also have the desire to volunteer?
Our volunteers are on duty at 15 locations at the USZ. Whether this is at the main entrance, at an information desk, or on escort duty in the Inpatient Admissions Department, there are many opportunities. First and foremost is the joy of dealing with people.
We are looking for empathetic, balanced and motivated volunteers.
- They greet the patients, visitors and relatives.
- They explain you the way and/or accompany the person(s) immediately to the desired destination. You do this with joy and great empathy.
- They provide general information that comes up with our patients, relatives and visitors.
- Other duties as assigned.
- You have time every 14 days to do an assignment of about 4 hours
- You are
…outgoing and can approach people well
…motivated, reliable and stick to agreements
…fit and can also cover longer distances once in a while - You have a good sense of direction and are interested in getting to know the USZ in all its ways
- You will receive a thorough introduction and support in your field of activity
- We enable you a meaningful and varied activity
- Recognition and appreciation are important to us; we show this, for example, with two annual events for our volunteers, lectures, discounts, etc.
- There are expense allowances and you are insured during the assignment (liability and accident)
- We offer regular training (for professional as well as social skills)
