In the first specialty hospital ranking in Switzerland, the Department of Cardiology of the USZ achieved first place as the best Department of Cardiology in Switzerland in 2023.
The ranking was created in the context of a collaboration agreement between the Handelszeitung and the independent statistics service provider Statista. For the ranking, an online survey of specialists was conducted and data from patient surveys as well as medical KPIs were evaluated.
In the online survey, more than 4,400 medical experts and other medical personnel from the relevant disciplines were interviewed. Existing data on patient satisfaction from the Swiss National Association for Quality Development in Hospitals and Clinics was used. The medical KPIs are based on sources provided by the Federal Office of Public Health, the Swiss National Association for Quality Development in Hospitals and Clinics, and the Initiative Qualitätsmedizin.
